Home Economics is a subject that aims to develop and enhance skills and knowledge that are essential in everyday life. Home Economics allows pupils to put theory into practice with a wide range or practical experiences. The Government’s proposals for the “Scottish Diet 2006” influences much of our theory and practical work. Pupils are encouraged to make informed decisions about trying interesting and nutritious meals which should help to develop sound nutritional choices in later life.

Teaching methods used encourage pupils to make informed decision about their diet and lifestyle. Consumer awareness is introduced specifying choices available and best use of products.
