WAGS report As Kathy was unable to attend, Alison explained that the only event
held since the last meeting was the Body active classes. It is hoped that Kathy will be able to give
us a full report at the next meeting. Helen suggested a possible fund raiser could be selling Christmas
Trees. Helen will look into this. |

Treasurers report Alison reported that the bank balance is £2141.78. The body active class had cost £100 with income of £9.50 Mr McKenzie (PE) was pricing a marquee, which he thought would be approx £600. This would be used mainly by the PE dept, for sports day and at the county sports. The children have an area to shelter from bad weather and also a place to put their bags. Alison will wait to hear from Mr McKenzie regarding the price, but no one had any objections to paying £600 for the marquee. Post meeting note – Mr McKenzie contacted Alison with a price of £300 to £400. Mr McKenzie will order the marquee. The next event that the WAGs will be involved in is the

Communication The problems of communication were discussed, to see if there are any way we can improve the lines of communication. Mr Pond said that the school have also discussed this problem. The following areas were discussed – Using email Website – problem keeping the website up to date. It was suggested that maybe parents & pupils could be involved to support the website. Passing messages via the kids – not always passed on GLOW – another means of communication that has just started. Jane reported that she is on ‘Parents as Partners’ group, and they are looking into websites and are to have a launch shortly Mr Pond will find out what the Senior Management Teams views are and report their views at the next meeting. RECTORS REPORT Mr Pond reported that work on the school had started, but has currently stopped due to the exams starting. Mr Pond has a timetable of the work. Fire Evacuations had been put in place. The Zig Zag path will be closed during school hours, but the children will be able to use this at lunch time to go into town. Work on the all weather pitch will start on 16th June, this will result in the sport day being on a smaller scale. Mr Pond issued a spreadsheet with the per capita budget that is to be allocated to the departments, and explained the basis of the allocation.
Mr Pond said that the Supported Study budget may be tight this year and that the school may ask for financial help. This budget is used for the Easter Revision week for staff costs, and also for staff costs to enable the school library to be open at nights, before the exams. Mr Pond reported that the supported study sessions had been well attended. There is to be an extra In Service day on Monday 25th May for Curriculum for Excellence. Mr Pond also reported that David Elder a 2nd year pupil had won a wind Turbine for the school in an Eco project he had competed in. Mr Pond did not have any other details, and did not know if there was any cost implications. The Senior football team are through to the final The Prize giving is on Tuesday 30th June and the guest speaker is Drew Walker. Mr Pond also reported on an Outward bound course that will
be for all 3rd years in October 2010. It is an adventure course at Correspondence Claire has a summary of a survey and if anyone wants they can get this from Claire The result of the October holidays is that Angus schools will retain the 1st 2 weeks in October AOCB Questionaire feedback is to go in the annual report A letter of thanks is to be sent to Jim Anderson, Director of Education, who is to retire in August. The drop off and pick up for school buses. Mr Mcintosh reported that Ged Gilmartin has been off, but will be looking into the safety issues on his return. Mr Summers is to be asked to look into the issuing of late bus passes for children who are attending after school activities.
