Pupil
use of ICT rooms
-
Teachers are
responsible for monitoring appropriate use of ICT facilities by their class.
‘Ranger’ software is installed in these rooms to help prevent mis-use.

Pupils must be
instructed in correct use of facilities and encouraged to report immediately
any damage or malfunctioning of hardware or software.

Teachers
should check the condition of equipment in the room before leaving.

At the end of
the lesson all users should be logged off and leave the computer on the ‘log
on’ screen. At the end of Period 9 computers should be shut down.
Pupil use of the Internet in the library and elsewhere outside class time.

The Internet
can
only be used for curricula use.

Casual
game playing and browsing will not be allowed.

Before using a
computer pupils must complete a pink Internet Use Slip and place it,
in view, close to the computer.

When the
pupil logs off they should post the used slip in the box provided.

Pupils are not allowed to use any form of E mail unless they have prior
permission from a member of staff.
ie.
They must get the E mail section on the Internet Use Slip signed by a
teacher before logging on to use E Mail.

Pupils are
not allowed to use Chat Rooms or Newsgroups.

Mis
use of ICT facilities

All pupils
complete a signed Responsible User’s Agreement on enrolling and these forms
are held in the school office.

Any abuse of
ICT facilities are reported to the DHT i/c ICT (R Pond). Such abuse will
result in suspension of a pupil’s access to school ICT facilities for a time.
Parents will be informed and other punishments may be given
